Cat C1 License Cost UK
The Cat C1 license is required if you drive any vehicle that weighs more that 3.5 tonnes but less that 7.5 tonnes. For those of you that passed your driving test before 1997, you will already have this category on your driving license. The cat c1 license isn't the most popular course people opt for as most require a license that enables them to drive vehicles that weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. The cost they advertise their HGV C+E is from £1075, again they offer 3 types of HGV C+E training courses, a 15, 16 and 20 hour training course. The price for each is £1075, £1139, £1395. There are a couple of ways you can cover the cost of your HGV training in the UK. You can obviously pay for it up front if you have the money and there is also an option if you cant afford to pay your HGV training costs up front. There are many places offering a finance type deal for the courses and there is also a government funded HGV courses option. The funded option is a great way to get your HGV license, the government provides the company that you do your training with funding through their advanced learning loans scheme. The beauty of the scheme is that you only start to repay the loan when you are earning £21k and you only pay 9% of the loan value each year.

After having a good read of the governments website, i can report that to acquire a HGV licence you are required to be at least 18 years old, have a full driving license and hold a CPC certificate. There are exceptions, people who want to drive a HGV for personal reasons and non commercially do not require a CPC certificate.
